Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)
Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.
P&C main function
The Rock Central School P&C Association main function is to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, teachers, staff and students into close co-operation and to assist in providing facilities and equipments for the school through its fundraising activities. The P&C role in the school is strongly embedded in promoting the recreation and welfare of students at the school.
Membership
The P&C is open to all parents of students attending The Rock Central School and to all citizens within its community. The association holds its general meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. An annual general meeting is held in March of each year to elect its executive committee. A small fee payable at the AGM or after any further general meetings enables eligible members to vote on decisions made by the P&C.
28/02/13:
The P & C committee will hold their Annual General Meeting for 2013 on the 14th of March and 7pm in the staff room. All office bearer positions are open for election at each AGM.
Positions include:
- President
- Two Vice-Presidents
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Up to 6 Ordinary Members
If an office-bearer position becomes vacant between annual general meetings, the position is to be filled through an election at any general meeting. Only financial P & C members are eligible to stand for a position. Payment of the membership fee must be made by the close of one meeting so that the member is eligible to exercise membership rights (eg. vote) at the next meeting.
(Quotation from Handbook for P & C Associations Fact Sheet 2,3,7.)
General meetings are held in Weeks 3 and 7 of each school term, Wednesday evenings, 7pm in the Staff Room.
