The Rock Central School serves the township of The Rock and an extensive, surrounding, rural district.
Three buses deliver students to the school each day from areas such as Tootool, French Park, South Collingullie and Maxwell. The Rock Central School and its community, aims to provide a curriculum that is relevant, meaningful and enjoyable so that children will attain their social and academic potential enabling them to fulfil their rightful role in society.
Principal's message
The Rock Central School caters for the educational needs of all students of The Rock community and surrounding areas. Our students range from Kindergarten to Year 10 and include a comprehensive range of abilities. We ensure students have successful transition to kindergarten and Year 7 and our aim is to provide a continuity of learning and support from kindergarten to year 10. We offer the full complement of subjects and learning experiences for all students and our Y9-10 students have a large range of electives to select from. This is attributed to the high quality of teachers, a vast range of teaching skills and experiences and a dedication to their profession as teachers and learners.
The Rock Central School has an active and supportive P&C. This group of parents and carer's go out of their way to ensure quality education is provided to their children. They are not just fundraisers as some might assume, but an integral part of the school community where ideas, suggestions, school policies and procedures are discussed and improved upon. They truly are an asset to the school and contribute to their children's education in a positive and supportive manner.
The school also is a success due to the hard work of our dedicated support staff. Many people are not aware of the important role the School Administration and Support Staff, Farm Assistant, General Assistant, Learning Support Staff and the Cleaning Staff play in the school. They keep the school running in a harmonious way, they are helpful, caring, enjoy working with children and are a great group of colleagues to work with.
We actively celebrate the learning achievements of the students of The Rock Central School. We provide academic, sporting and cultural experiences so all students can experience successes. Yes we are a country school, with country kid's and country values.
